About Us

Newton Abbot Ladies Hockey Club was formed in 1967 by a group of ladies who wanted to create a friendly space where they could share their love for the sport with others. This aspiration still remains at the heart of Newton Ladies. We aim to create a successful club where everyone is able to reach their full potential and all are welcome.

We are a club of mixed ages and abilities and we believe that this is one of our strengths. As a club we have, through the years, had the privilege of seeing individuals grow and thrive as they develop their skills; some players have been with us since childhood and have now achieved veteran status, others are rediscovering their love for the sport and some have only just picked up a stick for the first time.

We recently completed an undefeated season in Petroc Division 1 during the 24/25 season and will now be moving up to play in South Division 2 for the 25/26 season, this is a local competitive league across Devon and Cornwall with matches played  every Saturday starting at the end of September and running through to April.

We are affiliated to England Hockey, West Hockey Association and the Devon Hockey Association. We are also an England Hockey ‘ClubMark’ accredited club.
