Another important match for Newton as they faced Dart in the sunshine on Saturday.

Both teams started strong with the play moving end to end. Newton's midfield worked hard to move the ball up the pitch and create chances for the attack with Frankie Thompson and Aimee Scott coming close to putting Newton ahead. Dart responded with their own chances but Newton’s defence stood strong with Nancy Ellis and Jenna Disbury making key interceptions to keep Dart out. Newton eventually broke the deadlock after Nancy fired a ball into the top of the D with Eleanor Manley managing to get a nick on it to send it into the back of the goal giving Newton a 1-0 lead before half time.

Heading out into the second half Newton looked to maintain their lead, battling hard for every ball. Newton soon broke through once again with player of the match Erin Pettican blasting the ball forward which was picked up by Aimee who cooly slotted the ball into the goal from a tight angle. Dart pushed forward in search of a way back into the game, but Newton remained organised defensively and difficult to break down, leading to a well deserved win.
