100!

Newton travelled down to Plymouth today to face up against Devonport 3s.

Newton immediately put pressure on Devonport’s defence moving into their D but were struggling to get the ball over the line. Aimee Scott was the first to break through for Newton poking the ball over the line after a lovely cross from player of the match Harriet Ellis (this was to be the start of a fruitful partnership).

Nikki Hobbs soon found her first goal of the game, before Aimee added her second and Nancy Ellis finished off the half with her first goal, slotting it past the keeper from a tight angle.

Going out into the second half Newton wanted to capitalise on their form and capitalise they did with Nikki scoring in the first minute 😱

This was soon followed by a flurry of goals from Newton with both Aimee and Nikki earning their hat tricks! Aimee soon nabbed her fourth of the game before Nancy grabbed her second after a battle in front of the goal.

Newton continued to press well with some lovely play across the midfield from Meg Smale and Mandy Isherwood as they carried the ball towards the D helping to create wave after wave of attack. It wasn’t long before Aimee once again found the back of the goal with her 5th of the match and Newtons 100th goal of the season!! 🤯

This was soon followed by Eleanor Manley adding her name to the list before Nancy finished up the goals with her hat trick 2 minutes from time, ending the match 12-0 to Newton!
