WOW!

After a week off Newton were hoping to continue their winning streak and boy oh boy did they do just that! Newton showed their intent early winning a short corner in the first minute with player of the match Aimee Scott converting her first of the game. Newton buoyed by an early goal continued to pressure Plymouth's defence and saw goals from Nancy Ellis, Eleanor Manley and a second from Aimee putting Newton 4-0 up in the first 10 minutes of the game! 😱

Newton continued to push forward with some lovely play through the midfield with Mandy Isherwood, Harriet Ellis, Holly Wines and Maya Gough linking up well and applying pressure to Plymouth's defence. Newton broke through once more with Frankie Thompson making it 5-0 to Newton before Aimee scored another two! Sending Newton into half time 7-0 up! 🥳😱

Newton came into the second half looking for more goals but Plymouth Uni were determined to keep them out for as long as they could. Newton had lots of chances with one even ricocheting off the post, but Plymouth's defence dug deep and battled hard to keep the goals to a minimum in the second half. However, Nikki Hobbs found a way through and slotted in Newton's 8th of the game. 💪

An amazing performance by everyone, now we look forward to next week. 👊
