Another birthday, another win 🎂

Newton had their second match of summer league this week, this time facing up against Sidmouth and Ottery.

Newton started strong and dominated possession throughout the first half, being rewarded with two goals, the first coming from birthday girl Frankie Thompson who slipped it past the keeper at the post! 💪

Aimee Scott nabbed Newton’s second after a battle in front of goal before half time.

Going out into the second half, Sidmouth and Ottery stepped up a gear testing Newton’s defence but Newton dealt with this well and continued to push forwards with some lovely link up play between Nikki Hobbs, Harriet Ellis and Erin Pettican - despite their best efforts Sidmouth and Ottery kept Newton out in the second half with the match ending 2-0 to Newton!
