Newton were back in summer league action after a week off, Newton started quickly putting pressure straight onto Exeter Red, Aimee Scott, Harriet Ellis, Erin Pettican and Sophie Reed linking up well together to force Exeter's defence back with Newton having several shots saved by some excellent keeping.

Newton soon broke through though with Nancy Ellis firing into the back of the goal from close range, this was quickly followed by a goal from Sophie tipping the ball round the keeper after a lovely ball from Harriet sent in from the 23! 🤩

A scuffle in front of goal meant that Newton conceded before halftime.

Going out into the second half Newton wanted to continue their good form and ramped up the pressure, Newton were soon rewarded with a goal from Aimee, this was followed almost instantly by Sophie with her second goal of the game! Newton continued to dominate possession but were kept at bay for the remaining minutes of the match, ending the game 4-1 to Newton! 🥳
