Fab Five!

After a week off thanks to Storm Bert, Newton were raring to go today vs Kingsbridge and Salcombe.

K&S started brightly taking advantage of Newton only having 10 players and got an early goal. However, Newton were not going to accept that and fought back to equalise through a fab short corner from player of the match Frankie Thompson! Newton were soon ahead with another goal from Frankie, sneaking through the keepers legs and over the line. 💪

Kingsbridge and Salcombe continued to put the pressure on Newton but a brilliant pass from Sara Ellis to Nancy Ellis meant Newton went into half time 3-1 up after Nancy ran down the pitch and around the goalie to slot Newton's third goal home! 🤩

Fired up after the halftime talk and a great come back in the first half Newton went out into the second looking for more goals. Newton were piling on the pressure with lovely passing across the midfield from Nikki Hobbs, Harriet Ellis and Mandy Isherwood. Kingsbridge and Salcombe managed to keep Newton at bay until Nancy broke through once again and fired into the bottom corner of the goal! Newton continued to up the gears and keeping possession and pressuring K&Ss goal, with Newton getting another goal after a fantastic cross from Nikki was deflected into the goal by Eleanor Manley, ending the match 5-1 to Newton! 👊
