Goals galore in the sunshine

Newton hosted Okehampton this week in the glorious sunshine! 🌞

Newton started well charging forward towards Okehampton's goal, Okehampton initially kept Newton out rebuffing Newton's first few attempts - however the deadlock was soon broken through Frankie Thompson slotting the ball past the keeper, this was quickly followed by a second for Frankie! 😎

Aimee Scott soon got her name on the scoresheet with three goals coming in quick succession - one of them coming from a brilliant run from Nancy Ellis all the way from the defensive 23 😱 - this sent Newton into half time 5-0 up!

Newton went out into the second half looking to replicate their first and get some more goals. Nancy opened the scoring for the second half of the match before player of the match Polly Poole-Birrell got her first goal of the game (and the season!) before shortly following up with her second! 🤩

A brilliant ball through from Aimee saw Eleanor Manley add her name to the scoresheet, before Aimee got her fourth of the game! This was followed by Frankie securing her hat trick 👊

Eleanor nabbed the final goal of the game poking the ball over the line from a short corner, ending the match 12-0 to Newton!
