Newton's first home game of the season got off to a flying start with Newton controlling the game and putting the pressure on Teigns defence. After some early drama with a disallowed goal and an injury for Teign (putting them down to 10 players), Aimee Scott opened her account for the game going 1vs1 with the keeper. Not too long after that Nikki Hobbs fired a beauty of a goal into the top corner before Aimee got her second of the game, sending Newton into half time 3-0 up! 😱


Going out into the second half Newton knew they were going to have to keep the momentum going as Teign were going to come out fighting. Once again Newton kept the pressure up and were soon rewarded with a goal from Frankie Thompson! Nancy Ellis added her name to the scoresheet before Teign had a breakaway and managed to get a goal of their own. Undeterred Newton carried on and soon Frankie got her second of the game with a fabulous assist from Player of the match Maya Gough! Newton had the final say of the match with Eleanor Manley scoring Newton's seventh goal minutes from the end! 🄳
