What a second half!

Newton travelled down to play Plymouth Uni 3s this morning and were looking to capitalise on their good form and build up their goal difference as we come towards the end of the season.

Newton started well putting the pressure on Plymouth and keeping the play within their 23 - it was Frankie Thompson that opened the scoring for Newton, controlling the ball in the air before firing home 👊

Newton continued to work hard but were struggling to find their rhythm before Nikki Hobbs found the back of the goal before halftime, sending us into the break 2-0 up.

Going into the second half Newton meant business, unhappy with their first half performance they wanted show their strength in the second. Newton started quickly with Nancy Ellis firing the ball into the back of the goal for her first of the half. This was soon followed by a goal from player of the match Harriet Ellis 🤩

From here Newton were firing on all cylinders, Nancy bagged herself another goal before Eleanor Manley slotted 3 in in quick succession, this was closely followed by Nancy getting herself a hat trick too 😱

Nikki had the final say of the game scoring Newton’s 10th goal of the game and 8th of the second half!!

With four games left of the season Newton remain top of the league and still undefeated!
